Don’t Miss the Award-Winning Documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” at Lumiere Cinema!
The Ukrainian Association of New Zealand, Southern Regions, and Tautoko Ukraine Charitable Trust, invite you to a special screening of “20 Days in Mariupol,” Ukraine’s first Oscar-winning documentary feature. Directed by war correspondent Mstyslav Chernov, this powerful film takes you inside the besieged city of Mariupol during the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
Through incredible footage captured by Chernov and his team—who were the last journalists left in Mariupol—you will witness the unimaginable devastation and courage of those living through the siege. The evening will include a special address from Professor Natalia Chaban, Media and Communications Professor at the University of Canterbury (UC) and President of the Ukrainian Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand. Natalia Kabaliuk, a Ukrainian academic from Christchurch, will host the event.
